James Hype to Revitalize UK Nightlife with Midweek Show in Milton Keynes at Unit Nine

In a bold move aimed at revitalizing the UK’s dance music scene, globally acclaimed DJ James Hype is set to embark on a tour of exclusive midweek performances at regional venues across the UK.

This unprecedented initiative, kicking oD on Home, Lincoln, is designed to inject new energy into the nightlife landscape and support local communities struggling in the aftermath of recent challenges.

MixMag reported that as of September 2024, 65 nightclubs in the UK have closed since the start of this year. Statistics show that at least 3 nightclubs are closing per week or eleven a month.

As a global DJ that built his career from the foundations of the regional clubbing scene, James shares the growing concerns about the decline of live music events, and questions where the next generation of DJs will come from. Not only that, but how this is negatively impacting nightlife culture, communities and the people who will become redundant as a result.

“When I started DJing, my first gig was in a nightclub on a Tuesday night. All nightclubs used to be open every day of the week. Even when I wasn’t playing, I was going to gigs myself and I was immersed in this scene which made me who I am. All the nightclub closures led to me think about what the future would be like for new and upcoming DJs, which has inspired this whole tour. This tour isn’t about making money, it’s about making sure future generations have the opportunity to make a start in this industry, and to give back to the culture that shaped my career as a DJ today.” – James Hype.

The series of shows will kick oD in Home- Lincoln with shows planned at Home - Leeds, Unit Nine - Milton Keynes, The Old School House in Hull, Fabric in London and finishing with a return to James’ hometown with Blackstone Warehouse in Liverpool. Each event promises an unforgettable experience.
