Local organisation donates £5000 to support LGBTQ+ charity Q:alliance.

GXO - Waitrose has recently demonstrated its commitment to the local community by donating £5,000 from its top-up shop to Q:alliance, a charity dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.

This generous contribution will aid Q:alliance in continuing its vital work, including providing support groups, counselling services, and educational programs that promote inclusivity and acceptance.

Q:alliance was one of many organisations to recieve funding, with others including MK Act, Milton Keynes Hospital Charity and MS Society's MK branch.

GXO's top-up shop raises vital funds every year, by selling surplus products at a discounted rate to staff members. Funds accumulated through this project are then distributed to local organisations, with the funds nearing the £1,000,000 mark distrubted so far.

Jay Virgo, Communications and Engagement Manager said: "GXO's donation to Q:alliance exemplifies the positive impact that corporate support can have on local charities. Such contributions not only provide essential funding for charitable initiatives but also enhance the company's reputation, strengthen community ties, and promote a culture of social responsibility. By supporting local charities, businesses like GXO play a crucial role in fostering a more inclusive and supportive society.".
