Callum Anderson MP and Chris Curtis MP paid tribute at a Hospice Care Week event
On Thursday October 10, the Buckingham and Bletchley and Milton Keynes North MPs both attended a Hospice UK pop-up charity shop at the Houses of Parliament.
The event - held during Hospice Care Week - gave Callum and Chris a chance to thank hospices across the UK for the support that they provide for individuals and their families during an incredibly difficult time. They both raised how impressed they have been by Willen Hospice, which has provided specialist care in Milton Keynes for over 40 years.
Callum Anderson MP said:
“We all know that hospices such as Willen do a brilliant and unreplaceable job, and I was so pleased to join Hospice UK to celebrate the work that their members do to support 300,000 people a year. In our manifesto, Labour made health and social care a priority, and we are committed to working collaboratively with hospices to provide the wraparound support that people deserve at their end of life”.
Chris Curtis MP said:
“It was brilliant to visit Hospice UK’s pop-up charity shop display. I enjoyed speaking to the frontline staff and learning more about their vital work provided for those in their care. I am determined to do all I can to support Hospice UK and the fantastic Willen Hospice, whose inspiring work supporting individuals and families across Milton Keynes plays a very important part in our communities.”
Willen Hospices ‘Care at home? Who cares?’ campaign is urging local people to pledge their support for the Hospice, and particularly the Willen at Home team. You can find out more here: https://willen-hospice.org.uk/whocares/
